Texas County Clerk Requirements and Qualifications

To be a Texas County Clerk, they must meet the following requirements:

• U.S. Citizen;
• Texas resident for at least 12 consecutive months;
• County resident for at least 6 consecutive months;
• Registered County voter;
• At least 18 years old;
• Not have a felony conviction;
• Not be mentally incapacity.

Additionally, Texas County Clerk appointees or electees must also complete 20 hours of continuing education annually.
